The BaccRag
The BaccRag is BSGE’s school newspaper. Students get to choose which article(s) they want to write for every issue. In the club you become not just more confident in your writing skills, but more confident in general. You’ll have assistance every step of the way from our editors as well other staff members :)

Baccrag is open to all grades
BSGE Debate Club
The BSGE Debate Club participates in monthly Public Forum tournaments in the New York City Urban Debate League.
When they meet: Every Wednesday from 3:00pm-4:00pm

BSGE Debate Club is open to grades 9-12 each year they hold tryouts to fill the limited number of new seats available.
Key Club
Key Club is a global service organization that helps its members build character through the establishment of an inclusive and progressive environment. Through collaboration and cooperation with other members of the club and external organization, all members develop good work ethics and leadership skills. In partnership with their local Kiwanis Club, students make an impact as they positively serve other in their schools and communities.
When they meet: Thursdays 4:30pm

BioMed Society
In BioMed Society, we give students the opportunity to become familiar with the medicinal and scientific fields. We often have guests speakers (doctors, nurses, and medical students) who share their experiences.

Student Tutoring Association
This peer tutoring program is meant to help students who need some extra help with school from older students who have been through the classes they are struggling with. Students will meet on Zoom for homework help or other class-related advice. Tutors will be required to have gotten an IB7 in the class they are tutoring.

UNICEF BSGE
The United Nations Children's Emergency Fund was created to provide food and healthcare to children in need. Our goal is to participate in UNICEF's projects regarding poverty around the world by raising awareness and money through fundraising.
When they meet: Every Monday from5:45-6:05 pm

On A High Note!
BSGE Sings (On A High Note!) would like to provide students with an outlet for their musical creativity! Anyone who enjoys singing or loves music can join. They’ll be working on fun mini-projects such as making covers or mashups. You can even just chill with the club and discuss your favorite songs to end your week on a high note!

Photojournalism Club
The Photojournalism club is a meeting space where people come together to learn the basic skills of both writing and photography and apply them to their work when portraying stories through the use of powerful images and short, detailed descriptions.

AI Ethics
This club will create a fun learning community to discuss topics related to Artificial Intelligence and our society. This club will be sponsored by Inspirit AI, an organization developed and taught exclusively by a team of alumni and graduate students from Stanford and MIT.

Embody Love Club
This club is about body positivity and inclusivity, as well as empowering others to be confident in themselves.
When they meet: Every Friday, from 4:30-5:15 pm

Queer Justice
Queer Justice is a club that unites LGBTQ+ and allied students in BSGE to build community and organize around issues impacting us in our school and other communities. Throughout the year they put together many fundraisers to collect money which is then entirely donated to organizations that are dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ individuals. Two particular organizations they have been working closely with include: the Ali Forney Center and the Sylvia Rivera Law Project.
When they meet: Every Tuesday from 3pm-4pm (Oftentimes the club ends before 4pm but they have this time allotted just in case)

RED
They are a growing collective (formally known as PERIOD) focused on making BSGE a more inclusive community by educating individuals on reproductive health and rights, as well as what combatting stigmas around those areas looks like.

Robotics Club
Robotics Club is exactly what it sounds like! A club that serves as a space for the BSGE Robotics Team to share ideas and work on projects.

The Snail Mail Club
The Snail Mail Club is BSGE's very own pen pal service! Students of all grades will be matched with one another based on their shared interests. The Snail Mail Club aims to connect the BSGE family and help students, new and old, get to know one another.
When they meet: Meetings occur biweekly on Mondays from 5:30-6:30 Supervisor: Ms. Clarkson-Farrell
BSGE Filmmaking/Film Production Club
A club in which kids interested in any of the multiple aspects of filmmaking (directing, editing, screenwriting, acting, etc. ) can develop their filmmaking skills.

The Wandering Cartoonists
The Wandering Cartoonists are a group of cartoonists and animators who create small cartoons (by images, comics, or animation) by hand or digitally, which they post on instagram and other social media platforms.
When they meet: Every Tuesday from 5:30-6:30 pm

7th, 8th and 9th graders
Some Tips for people who like to do digital art or animate: Procreate and Krita are good for short animations and drawings. Synfig is good for rigging 2D models for a different animation style (think Ted-Ed and Kurzgesagt).
Yearbook Club
Yearbook Club aims to create a book that represents BSGE in the 2020-2021 school year.

Any student can start a club!
If at least 15 students are interested in starting a particular activity or club, they should fill out an After School Activities form_ March 23 2022.docx . The club proposal must include a description, name of the teacher/supervisor, and day, and time of meetings. To obtain approval for an After Clubs or Activity, send your requests, ideas, etc. to Schoolactivities@bsge.org.
